…Curiously, I too have shoplifting stories. I got caught twice. First time when I was seven by my mom. And that scared me straight for a few years but come teen years I went back to it as I’d improved my craft.
At the age of 19, the weekend after a group of my art school classmates and I swapped shoplifting stories, I found out the Payless store in my new town was MUCH more secure than the Payless store in my hometown. I got caught, and paid $200 fine (for a Pen) to avoid having my parents told.
Then three months later I got my tonsils out and after signing the consent form where they tell you this is easy but technically there is a chance of death, I confessed everything to my mom.
